Gaudence Temu
Gaudence Temu is a corporate executive specialising in international logistics, aviation infrastructure, and agribusiness export systems, with distinguished track record transforming port and cargo operations. He holds advanced professional qualifications in corporate logistics and supply-chain management, with specialised expertise in international import-export operations, cold-chain infrastructure development, and agricultural export market strategies.
Mr Temu is founder and chairman of Bongo Export House Ltd, providing strategic advisory services on agricultural logistics infrastructure and export market development across East Africa. He helps agricultural enterprises navigate complex export supply chains, identify market opportunities, and develop strategies for regional and international market access whilst maintaining product quality and meeting buyer specifications.
Previously, Mr Temu served as Chief Executive Officer of Swissport Tanzania PLC (formerly Dar es Salaam Airport Handling Company–DAHC), a leading international aviation services provider and operator of Tanzania’s principal import-export cargo terminal. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional capability in infrastructure investment, operational scaling, and institutional transformation of complex logistics operations.
Under his strategic leadership, Swissport undertook a USD 13 million investment programme establishing a state-of-the-art cargo terminal featuring specialised, climate-controlled cold-storage zones maintaining perishable commodity quality throughout supply chains from farm gate to international markets. This transformative infrastructure significantly enhanced Tanzania’s horticultural export capacity and quality standards. Mr Temu was instrumental in scaling exports of high-value horticultural products from Southern Highlands, establishing supply chains connecting smallholders with regional and international buyers.
Within AGCOT’s board, Mr Temu brings critical expertise in transportation infrastructure, cold-chain logistics, and export market positioning. His experience developing specialised handling infrastructure directly supports AGCOT’s vision of integrating smallholders into regional and global value chains—particularly for high-value perishables commanding premium prices. His logistics expertise addresses fundamental constraints to smallholder commercialisation: reliable, quality-preserving export infrastructure.
